A no-hype review of the List PROFIT System by Jimmy D. Brown

If you have ever spent any time reading about affiliate marketing, you have probably encountered the phrase, “The profit is in the list.” What does that mean? It means that although you can make some money selling products from Websites or other sources, the true profit comes from building and maintaining an e-mail list of customers. If a hot new product comes out, you can build a Website to promote it and have it online in a few days. If you have a mailing list, however, you can blast a sales letter out to your customer base in minutes. That has several advantages over other marketing methods:

  • You save time; the sales letter goes out immediately.
  • Your customers will get the sales letter from you before they get one from your competition.

Obviously, there are benefits to having a mailing list. But how do you get one? How do you maintain one? What do you do with one once you have it? These questions plague a lot of people who are new to Internet marketing. They certainly plague me, as I’m no expert. 

I am curious, though, and mailing list expert Jimmy D. Brown’s latest book, “List PROFIT System” seemed to address all of my concerns. I ordered a copy and gave it a thorough read to see if it could help me with my own marketing techniques. It was a nice surprise to see that the book comes in both PDF and MP3 formats, so you can listen to it anytime.

There were four things I needed to know about the List Profit System:

  • Can you really make money with a mailing list?
  • Were his techniques different?
  • Are his methods effective?
  • Could I put these ideas to use quickly?

Jimmy D. Brown is probably the foremost authority on mailing lists. He is THE guy when it comes to opt-in techniques. The new book offers 94 pages of detail-rich methods regarding:

  • Why you need a mailing list, and why it should be of the “double opt-in” type
  • How you can create “squeeze pages” to get people to sign up and how you can increase the signup rate
  • How you can avoid ‘burning your customers out” from too many sales pitches
  • How you can make your customers work for you
  • How you can avoid having your messages flagged by your customers’ spam filters.

The book is an easy read, despite the fact that it isn’t written especially for those who are new to marketing. Brown offers a number of techniques specifically designed to increase the percentage of customers who sign up for your lists. Those techniques are, in my opinion, reason enough to own the book.

The bottom line? The List Profit System is a good, useful book that provides a treasure chest of details for obtaining, keeping, and managing an opt-in mailing list and for putting it to the most efficient use possible. If you are interested at all in Internet or affiliate marketing, this book is a must have. Period. 

I think that List Profit System represents a good value for your money, especially since the book includes a number of nice bonuses - a squeeze page template, two additional ebooks, and the entire course in MP3 format so that you can listen to it anywhere. Buying this one is a no-brainer.
